Sales Leads

Here's a unique way people are selling merchandise (with a little help from IMASD) .......

Do unsolicited sales calls annoy you? Are you sick of all those spam e-mails? And how about those unwanted faxes that tie up your system? Rarely is there anything you want to buy, so most of it is a waste of your time, right?

Not so fast. There's real opportunity here. There's a gold mine in all this communication, if you learn how to work it.

First things first: You're in sales. Anyway you look at it, you're going to be closing somebody or you don't make any sales. (If you don't understand this, you better go back to Entrepreneur 101, but that's another story.) Good sales leads are your life's blood and you can pay good money to get them ….. or ….. you can gather them up all around you from all those calls, e-mails, and faxes that you might have rejected before.

What can you tell about all these people who solicit you because of IMASD?

Well for one, most of them are in our business. (Being an IMASD Member gets you lots of sales offers for merchandise.) These guys also have a little money in their pocket too, as is demonstrated by their ad campaign. Put this together and you have a potential customer for your product. Have you ever thought of turning the tables and selling them instead?

As one of the best we know said:
"I've made some of my best sales to guys trying to sell me. Hey, the call's on their dime, so why not take a shot?"

Now consider this: Two fellows have (or they have access to) loads of electronics that they want to sell.

Fellow 1) He buys a list of discount wholesalers and plans to start calling, e-mailing, and faxing.
Fellow 2) He builds his own list from all those calls, e-mails, and faxes that come his way through the surplus association.

Who do think has the best list? There's no question that it's fellow number 2, because the list is a current as the marketplace.

A Quick Primer for New IMASD Service Providers

IMASD Service Providers are more than just IMASD Members. These are the companies and individuals that make IMASD what it is.

How IMASD Service Providers make money:

Here are the 3 basic fundamentals:

1) We cut cross-promotion deals with the others (IMASD members and service providers). We advertise them, and they advertise us.

2) We sell IMASD memberships. It is this membership concept that provides the capital needed to expand our individual marketing.

3) Multiple revenue streams are a part of our basic business model. We each engage in a promotional business, but not as an end in itself. It is these promotional businesses that set up our other revenue streams.

The result of all this is a group of completely independent small businesses that have the collective power of a large corporation.

Do you qualify? (for an IMASD business opportunity)

If you have to ask "Do I qualify?", then you don't.

These aren't jobs. They are entrepreneurial ideas that you execute in association with your own business plans. IMASD will help you with concepts, roadmaps, technical support, promotion, historical perspective, and some very good council, but it's your business.

If you already have your own startup plans, it's very likely you'll appreciate this kind of help, but if you aren't looking to run your own business, then this isn't for you.

What about startup capital? (If you already have it, you're lucky)

If you don't have money, how can you start a business?

A successful entrepreneur, when asked how he did it said "I kept pitching my program to everyone I could until I got somewhere. I made some deals, some trades, some pre-sales, some partnerships, and I made it happen."

In each opportunity outlined here, there is a way to make some cash through the pre-selling of merchandise, or memberships, or your new service. All you really must have to quailfy is a telephone and a brain.

If you're so smart, how come you're not already rich?

OK, so you have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur, and you're thinking about signing on with IMASD. Chances are, you're a bit of a control person, so here are a few pointers to keep these in mind when dealing with all of the politics that are associated with IMASD.

Most new businesses fail. Why is yours any different?
Don't live in a fantasy. Sure you have a great idea of what you want to do, but the chances are real that it won't make money. Just do the math. IMASD consultants have been there and done that. They know what works and what doesn't. They are all about making you a profit because the entire Association has a vested interest your success. Know when to listen to someone else. Follow their suggestions and you'll be more likely to succeed.

1% of something is better than 99% of nothing.
You will be making deals, because that's what being an IMASD Service Provider is all about. IMASD has many diverse players, and they all must be satisfied for everything to fly. These deals are structured to make something happen, and without them nothing happens, and there's nothing for anyone. These things work. They are working now for others, and if you do your part, they'll work for you. So, understand when there's a good deal on the table, and take advantage of it.

Never bite the hand that feeds you.
Are you starting to make good money as an IMASD Service Provider? Of course, so always remember where you came from, and how you got here. Too often, people start taking it all for granted, and begin making unreasonable demands on their partners. Just figure that giving it up now and then is the cost of doing business. Know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em, and keep the money flowing.

Bottom line:

IMASD Service Providers make money, and in doing so, all of IMASD benefits. IMASD continues grows at 20% per year, and it is the dominate force in surplus. If you are a Member, you know this to be true, because the numbers don't lie. Become an IMASD Service Provider (or just a Member) and learn how successful working together can be.

IMASD Memberships (aka BICS parcels) are the qualifier that we have all agreed one must have to be part of IMASD. The number of Memberships required to qualify as an IMASD Service Provider business can only be estimated, because IMASD has no rules for such things. It's simply a political equation; the more Memberships you own, the more influence you have with the others in the group. The number listed as "Membership Requirement" was derived from discussions with other Members, particularly those who are currently willing to sell Memberships in quantity.

Prospective buyers would be wise to negotiate an attractive cost-per-unit price with your seller. This will increase your profit margin as you sell them. Selling Memberships is relatively easy, as IMASD Memberships are continually in demand. This is likely to continue as long as our Service Providers volunteer their great promotional venues to us at no charge, just for being an IMASD Member.

It may surprise you that IMASD does not participate financially in the sale or acquisition of Memberships. When buying a Membership, you will be dealing with someone who does not represent IMASD, only themselves. You are paying for a rite-of-passage. We all paid our way in, and so must you. It is quite unique that IMASD has no financial interest in what is required to become one of us, however, we understand that it is an important component to our growth. Our Members profit from selling IMASD Memberships, and that's OK by the rest of us. In our community, our neighbor's success rubs off on all of us.
